Heather Kinang

Heather first stepped onto a yoga mat at university when she was dragged to a class and floated out the door. Born in Brisbane, a love of travel and adventure lured her to SE Asia, India and Nepal where she resided for several years, studying Buddhism and learning about Hinduism - it’s Gods and Goddesses, it’s myths and mantras - from her Kathmandu family.

Heather’s classes are challenging and informative with an emphasis on physical alignment. She believes a consistent yoga practice helps you achieve your highest level of wellbeing, both physically and emotionally, because, as Heather realised after her very first yoga class, the lessons learned on the mat are lessons for life.

Her Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga teachers include Noah Maze (300 hour Level 1, 500 hour Level 2 teacher training), Sianna Sherman (250 hour teacher training), Julie Smerdon (250 hour teacher training); her Yin Yoga teachers include Sarah Powers (100 hour teacher training) and Joe Barnett (50 hour teacher training). Maty Ezraty, Elena Brower and Douglas Brooks (Philosophy) are other major influences.

She is a Yoga Teacher Trainer, organises and leads Yoga Treks to Nepal and teaches locally, nationally and internationally at studios, health clubs and yoga resorts.
